As an early-career researcher, I see the Hong Kong Laureate Forum as an opportunity to engage with distinguished Shaw Laureates and fellow young scientists, fostering discussions and exchanging ideas across disciplines and geographical boundaries. The Forum’s commitment to connecting scientists across generations, disciplines, and cultures aligns with my own goals to broaden my perspectives and approaches within my research.
I am particularly excited about the opportunity to share my own experiences and career path with younger peers, helping them expand their awareness of the opportunities they may later pursue. Additionally, engaging with fellow researchers from diverse scientific and cultural backgrounds will provide insights into their own career trajectories and research approaches, which will have been shaped differently to my own. Learning about their challenges, successes, and academic contexts will deepen my understanding of the global scientific landscape and refine my ability to mentor future scientists.
By participating in this event, I aim to contribute actively while developing broader perspectives that will advance my own scientific journey. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate, learn, and be inspired, reinforcing my commitment to advancing science on a global scale.

I am an Astroparticle Physicist focused on developing and testing state-of-the-art models of the interactions and transport of relativistic particles (cosmic rays, CRs) within the evolving astrophysical structures of the Universe. I am best known for my work on CR feedback in galaxy ecosystems, which I have explored from the scale of the multi-phase interstellar medium to galaxy haloes. The main themes of my research are (1) assessing the CR impacts on the thermodynamics and evolution of galaxies; (2) investigating the effects of CRs on circum-galactic flows and the environment around and in-between galaxies, and (3) exploring the interactions and propagation of the highest-energy CRs through matter, radiation, and magnetic fields in the large-scale structure of the Universe, including cosmic filaments, galaxies, clusters, and voids.
