Statement of Purpose to Join the Forum (max. 200 words)

As a dedicated medical researcher with a strong background in clinical sciences, I am eager to participate in the Hong Kong Laureate Forum 2025 to engage with leading scientists and emerging researchers in interdisciplinary scientific discussions. My research focuses on [your specific research area, e.g., translational medicine, biomedical sciences, or clinical research], where I strive to bridge the gap between laboratory findings and real-world clinical applications.

Attending this forum will provide a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with esteemed laureates and like-minded peers, gaining insights into the latest advancements in science and technology. The interactive seminars, discussion groups, and workshops will allow me to expand my knowledge, refine my research approach, and explore innovative methodologies applicable to my field.

Moreover, the forum’s cross-cultural and collaborative environment aligns with my vision of fostering international scientific exchange. I am particularly interested in learning about Hong Kong’s advancements in medical sciences and technology, which could offer valuable perspectives for my ongoing research.

By joining this prestigious event, I hope to contribute actively to scientific discussions, gain inspiration for future projects, and build meaningful connections that will support my academic and professional growth in the global research community.

Award(s) and/or Scientific Accomplishment(s) (if any) (max. 100 words)

I have made significant contributions to valvular heart disease, interventional treatment, and cardiovascular imaging, with numerous publications in high-impact journals and presentations at international cardiology conferences. I am a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and have received research grants from the Swiss Heart Foundation (W. and L. Rutishauser Grant) and the German Heart Foundation. My work focuses on optimizing transcatheter valve therapies through advanced imaging and procedural innovation. Additionally, I have been actively involved in multicenter clinical studies, contributing to advancements in minimally invasive treatment strategies for mitral and tricuspid valve disease.

Abstract of Research / Brief Description of Your Current Research Interest (max. 200 words)

My research focuses on valvular heart disease, interventional treatment, and advanced cardiovascular imaging, with a particular emphasis on transcatheter valve therapies. Structural heart interventions have revolutionized the treatment of valvular disease, offering minimally invasive alternatives to surgery. My work explores patient selection, procedural optimization, and post-intervention outcomes in transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) for mitral and tricuspid regurgitation.

Through multimodality imaging and computational modeling, I aim to refine patient-specific treatment strategies, improving procedural success and long-term durability. My research contributes to the growing field of image-guided interventions, bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world clinical applications to enhance patient outcomes.
