Statement of Purpose to Join the Forum (max. 200 words)

The Hong Kong Laureate Forum presents an invaluable opportunity to engage with leading scientists and emerging researchers in a cross-disciplinary exchange of ideas. As a graduate student in nursing research with a strong interest in healthcare informatics and healthy longevity, I am eager to participate in discussions on how scientific advancements, particularly in life sciences and medicine, can be translated into real-world healthcare solutions. My research focuses on promoting healthy ageing in community-dwelling older adults, an urgent issue as global populations age and healthcare burdens rise. With my background in nursing research and healthcare data science, I bring a unique perspective on how biomedical innovations, AI, and robotics can be leveraged to improve preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient-centered interventions. Nurses, as primary patient-facing professionals, play a crucial role in implementing scientific discoveries into clinical practice. The Forum’s emphasis on collaboration across disciplines aligns with my belief that scientific breakthroughs in medicine, mathematics, and AI must be integrated to advance healthcare. Engaging with Shaw Laureates and fellow researchers will allow me to exchange knowledge, explore interdisciplinary solutions, and contribute to shaping the future of healthcare through innovation and collaboration.

Abstract of Research / Brief Description of Your Current Research Interest (max. 200 words)

I am a research assistant and graduate student specializing in community-based healthy ageing interventions for older adults, with a focus on promoting physical, psychological, and cognitive well-being. A key aspect of my research explores resilience in elderly caregivers and the role of AI-driven solutions in enhancing care coordination, decision-making support, and mental health interventions. Beyond community health, I am particularly interested in integrating AI-powered health monitoring systems with electronic health records (EHRs) to develop predictive models for the early detection of health risks in older adults. By leveraging real-time health data, AI can enable personalized lifestyle and medical interventions, helping prevent frailty and chronic disease progression. Additionally, I examine how robotics-assisted caregiving can both reduce the burden on healthcare workers and promote autonomy and social engagement among ageing populations.
