I am interested in developing a prediction algorithm to predict what detergents are optimal for a given membrane protein for structural determination. I would like to use machine learning and pattern recognition tools to search for sequence or structural motifs that may have predictive value. Currently, I am focusing on deciphering what is the role of cholesterol alongside detergents in the structural resolution step of membrane proteins.
