I am Yuzheng Wu, a junior undergraduate student from the School of Data Science at Fudan University.
My major lies at the intersection of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. Throughout my studies, I have taken a wide range of courses, including Mathematical Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Optimization, Statistical Inference, Probability Theory, and Statistical Learning.
Guided and inspired by my professors and senior peers, I have also been actively involved in interdisciplinary research projects. One of the most rewarding experiences was working on a project where I applied statistical and deep learning methods to predict protein functions. This experience allowed me to witness the power of data science in advancing research in other domains, such as biology, and deepened my interest in the intersection between computation and the life sciences.
Upon receiving the recommendation from the IMMC committee, I am thrilled to apply for this valuable opportunity. It would be a great honor to engage with leading experts in cutting-edge fields and to connect with fellow young scholars who share similar passions.
