The 2nd Hong Kong Laureate Forum (2025) is a prestigious opportunity for me to achieve, transform, and leverage skills in science communication, thus fostering innovative knowledge exchange both in and beyond academia. This also serves to open dialogues among the science community, industry practitioners, and/or (even) the members of the public, to achieve collaborative efforts for a better world.
As a Chevening Scholar, I aspired to be a future leader who drives new changes to impact the community. Effective science communication is crucial in raising awareness and transforming our world for prosperity in city development. In this connection, the Forum is great for me to unleash new ways to explore the inextricable relationship between the food system and climate change.
I look forward to connecting with other young scientists from around the globe and engaging in discussions on cutting-edge topics in the areas of science and technology. Together, we could devise strategies that impact our people, and benefit the only planet we are currently living on for a sustainable world. I am committed to contributing and envisaging this collaborative journey ahead.
Thank you.

Award(s): Received JASSO Scholarship in 2016 for the ANU-UTokyo exchange programme and Chevening Scholarship in 2021 for studying an LLM in Business Law and Sustainable Development at one university in the UK (covering full tuition and support with monthly stipends)
Scientific Accomplishment(s): A poster presentation titled “In search of preservation sites for Wollemi pine (Wollemia nobilis) in a changing climate” in the Australian Meteorological & Oceanography Society Conference & ANZ Climate Forum in 2017 and a presentation titled “Transforming UK’s food system be healthy, resilient and sustainable – Lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic” at the Chevening Conference in 2022
Title: Food System and Climate Change
Abstract: The food system is intricate and interconnected, involving activities in production, processing, transport, consumption, and disposal. The presentation will examine how climate change affects the global food system and formulate insights for its future sustainability and resilience.
Brief Description of Your Current Research Interest: My current research interest builds on my LLM thesis, titled “Towards a Resilient and Sustainable Food System in the United Kingdom: A Critical Analysis of Laws, Policies and Practices”, which was submitted to the School of Law, The University of Aberdeen in 2022. The foundation of my LLM thesis also supported the project, “Environment and Conservation Fund: The Easy Climate-Friendly Diet” at the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is a 24-month school-based and community engagement initiative focused on delivering climate education and outreach, and aiming to inspire behavioral changes towards sustainable diets and food-related habits for reaching a carbon-neutral society.
