I am writing to express my enthusiasm for attending the Hong Kong Laureate Forum as a postdoc fellow in medical science. With a Ph.D. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and extensive research experience in infectious diseases, I am eager to learn cutting-edge techniques or novel methods at this esteemed forum and collaborate with leading scientists in relevant fields, particularly artificial intelligence, mathematics, or biochemistry.
The Hong Kong Laureate Forum presents a unique opportunity to engage with experts dedicated to advancing medical science and other fields. I truly believe the forum's interdisciplinary background will inspire us to tackle global health challenges. I look forward to sharing my expertise and learning from the forum's diverse perspectives.
Thank you for considering my application. I am excited about attending the Hong Kong Laureate Forum and connecting with brilliant scientists in a global context.

I believe that the development of next-generation sequencing will benefit a lot to the medical field, combined with the algorisms from big-data-based machine learning. A series of non-invasive early diagnostic tools will emerge soon, along with exploring the mechanism and interaction between microbiome and diseases. Therefore, based on my previous research experiences in epidemiology and bioinformatics, I believe I will focus on building up the prediction models through the microbiome composition, either from the gut or from the respiratory tract, to predict early-life infection. I assure I will contribute to unveiling the mysteries of host-microbiome interactions, and I am ready for the tough road that lies ahead.
