Dear Selection Committee,
I am excited to express my interest in participating in The 2nd Hong Kong Laureate Forum. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Harvard University's Center for Nanoscale Systems with dual Ph.D. degrees from Imperial College London and NUS, my research focuses on atomically thin 2D materials and their potential in electronics and photonics.
My passion lies in interdisciplinary research. I believe innovative solutions emerge when diverse fields converge to tackle complex challenges. Participating in this forum will provide me with the opportunity to engage in stimulating discussions with Shaw Laureates and other distinguished scientists. I am eager to learn from their experiences, understand their approaches to science, and be inspired by their journeys.
Networking is a key aspect of this forum for me. Engaging with fellow young scientists is as important as interacting with established researchers. I am keen to share my research findings, explore collaborative opportunities, and enhance my leadership and interpersonal skills.
This forum aligns perfectly with my career goals as I prepare to establish my own research group. I am committed to contributing actively and look forward to the growth and opportunities that participation will provide.
Thank you for considering my application.
Sincerely,
Ibrahim
