Statement of Purpose to Join the Forum (max. 200 words)

My research integrates Mathematics, Finance, and Economics, focusing specifically on Fintech, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrencies. I have co-authored 35 highly-cited articles (over 2,000 citations on Google Scholar) in prestigious peer-reviewed journals, demonstrating substantial academic impact. Additionally, I founded and chaired the inaugural "Mathematics for Industry: Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies" workshop at the University of Manchester, UK. Joining this forum offers me an ideal platform to share my latest findings, engage in meaningful interdisciplinary dialogue, and foster valuable collaborations across academic and industrial sectors. I am particularly keen to exchange ideas and gain diverse insights from international scholars and emerging researchers, enriching my understanding and inspiring future work. Participation will directly support my ambition to enhance literature and practical applications of blockchain technology and digital assets, extending their benefits to varied industries. Furthermore, it aligns with my long-term vision of establishing the first dedicated Cryptocurrency and Blockchain research center in the UAE, strategically positioned to bridge research and innovation between Asia and Europe.

Abstract of Research / Brief Description of Your Current Research Interest (max. 200 words)

My research currently focuses on two main areas: blockchain-related crimes and wildlife conservation. The first project examines how crimes involving blockchain technology, particularly Bitcoin, have changed over time. Using web scraping and text mining, along with interviews with experts, the study seeks patterns in criminal activities linked to blockchain. The goal is to develop an interactive tool providing up-to-date information, helping researchers, businesses, and law enforcement prevent these crimes. The second project working with "The Green Planet Dubai" explores the welfare of captive Bengal slow lorises (Nycticebus bengalensis), an endangered primate affected by habitat loss and illegal trade. This research involved structured enrichment activities designed to reduce stress-induced behaviors. Observations and statistical analyses indicated noticeable improvements in loris behavior and welfare following these interventions. Both projects aim to provide practical insights, one improving digital security by understanding blockchain-related crimes, the other enhancing wildlife welfare through targeted interventions for conservation.
