Statement of Purpose to Join the Forum (max. 200 words)

My research focuses on enhancing GNSS and Space Geodesy applications for precise orbit determination of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites and designing lunar navigation systems. This work intersects with astronomy through the use of celestial reference frames, gravitational modeling, and high-precision measurement techniques.
A primary objective is to develop lunar navigation systems that integrate GNSS-like signals with astronomical references, such as X-ray pulsars. This requires collaboration with astronomers to align lunar and celestial coordinate systems. Attending the Hong Kong Laureate Forum 2025 will allow me to connect with experts in radio astronomy and VLBI networks, exploring the integration of geodetic positioning techniques with quasar-based reference frames.

Abstract of Research / Brief Description of Your Current Research Interest (max. 200 words)

I am Dr. Xiaolong Mi, a Research Assistant Professor specializing in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) technologies. My research focuses on satellite navigation, including PPP, RTK, and PPP-RTK, as well as precise orbit determination of LEO satellites. I also work on GNSS time and frequency transfer, GNSS remote sensing, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in earth and space sciences. I have published over 20 peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals, secured significant research funding, and received multiple awards for academic excellence.
