Statement of Purpose to Join the Forum (max. 200 words)

I am currently a postgraduate student at the JC STEM Lab of Computational Genomics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), under the supervision of Prof. Sung Wing Kin. My research focuses on computational genomics, particularly in the areas of chromosomal instability and cancer genomics. I am dedicated to developing computational algorithms and models that help us better understand the human genome, with a particular emphasis on structural variations, somatic mutations, and cancer-related alterations.

At the forum, I hope to share my findings and exchange ideas with leading experts in life sciences, medicine, and mathematical sciences. By leveraging next-generation DNA sequencing platforms, I analyze tumor samples to explore the complexities of cancer genomes, including somatic structural variations, copy number alterations, and aneuploidy. I aim to integrate insights from the mathematical sciences to enhance computational methods for analyzing genomic data. This forum represents an ideal platform to further my research and foster collaboration across disciplines, advancing our understanding of cancer genomics and contributing to future innovations in the field.

Abstract of Research / Brief Description of Your Current Research Interest (max. 200 words)

My research focuses on computational genomics, chromosomal instability, and cancer genomics. I am dedicated to developing and applying computational algorithms and models to enhance our understanding of the human genome, with a particular emphasis on cancer genomics and structural variations. Specifically, I utilize next-generation DNA sequencing platforms to analyze tumour samples, identifying somatic structural variations(SVs), copy number alterations (CNAs), and aneuploidy patterns to better understand the complexity and instability of cancer genomes.
