Statement of Purpose to Join the Forum (max. 200 words)

As a dedicated public health microbiologist, my passion lies in unraveling the complexities of life to contribute to scientific advancement and societal well-being. Joining the Hong Kong Laureate Forum represents a unique opportunity to engage with esteemed laureates and fellow young scientists, fostering an exchange of ideas that can propel my research to new heights.

My work focuses on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance, where I have received significant scientific awards and honors from the USA government, the Austrian government, and Wellcome. This forum will provide an invaluable platform to discuss my findings, gain insights from leading experts, and explore interdisciplinary collaborations that can enhance the impact of my research.

I am particularly drawn to the forum's commitment to nurturing young scientists, as it aligns with my goal of contributing to a global scientific community that addresses pressing biological challenges. Engaging with laureates will not only refine my scientific acumen but also inspire innovative approaches to my work.

I am eager to bring my perspective and enthusiasm to the forum, and I am confident that this experience will be instrumental in my journey as a scientist dedicated to making meaningful contributions to the field of biology.

Abstract of Research / Brief Description of Your Current Research Interest (max. 200 words)

My research is dedicated to advancing the understanding of public health, with a particular focus on infectious diseases and genomic epidemiology. Currently, my work centers on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) profiling, bacterial characterization, and modeling. I aim to derive insights from both traditional disease surveillance methods and innovative approaches. I believe that fundamental research should explore under-investigated areas to provide new evidence using straightforward, easily communicable methods, rather than relying on complex tools applied to extensively studied datasets.

Would you like to present your Research in Poster Presentation Session and/or Flash Presentation?
