As a PhD student in Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, my research focuses on observational fear learning in mice, specifically investigating the role of primary visual and postrhinal cortices. I recently developed a novel place preference paradigm and obtained promising results, paving the way for optogenetic manipulations and calcium imaging—techniques I am currently mastering.
The Hong Kong Laureate Forum presents an invaluable opportunity to:
1) Engage with leading scientists in life sciences and medicine, gaining insights that could refine my research approach.
2) Reconnect with Hong Kong/China’s research culture, as I plan to return post-graduation and contribute to its scientific landscape.
3) Exchange ideas with peers and mentors, discussing innovative methodologies and career pathways in neuroscience.
4) Build lasting collaborations and friendships with like-minded researchers.
I am eager to immerse myself in this dynamic academic environment, drawing inspiration from world-class laureates while sharing my own findings. Participation in this forum would not only advance my scientific growth but also strengthen my ties to Asia’s research community.
Thank you for your consideration.
