My interest in being part of the Laureate Forum 2025 stems from my aspirations to become a clinician-scientist and the Forum's unique attraction as a transformative platform for intergenerational exchange on scientific excellence.
Ever since secondary education, I have always been fascinated by the limitless potential of science, in which imagination serves as the only constraint to innovation and discovery. I have long heard of the story of Prof Dennis Lo behind the homegrown non-invasive prenatal testing, which has served as a beacon of light that encourages me to embrace innovative solutions. As a medical student and an aspiring clinician-scientist, it is my fervent wish to contribute to the next scientific breakthrough in genomic medicine, which has the potential to democratise early diagnosis and treatment around the world.
As one of the grandest scientific occasions, the Laureate Forum offers a golden opportunity for us aspiring scientists to learn from the stories of the giants as we strive to carve our paths. It would be my immense pleasure to exchange scientific ideas with peers and leaders alike, as we stand on the shoulders of giants and prepare ourselves to forge groundbreaking scientific discoveries.

Since joining the Centre for Novostics in 2024 as a medical student, I have been actively developing skills in translational genomic medicine research with a focus on propelling medical diagnostics. Our team's ongoing efforts have centred on exploring approaches for streamlining non-invasive disease detection, such as the analysis of plasma cell-free DNA and multi-omics plasma profiles in optimising multi-cancer early detection (MCED).
